Bringing The 4 C's to the Social Studies Classroom
By Edris Ryan, Ph.D
This site is designed to keep families connected to the work and strategies employed in the classroom with students enrolled in Dr. Ryan's Social Studies. If this is the first time your child is enrolled in Dr. Ryan's class, this website is a good place to find out more about the basic structure of our classroom procedures.
The 21st century has seen a fast and determined push to educating students to be career ready and globally in tuned with the fast track of the digital world . It has become even more important as our world was swirled into a dark hole resulting from the Coronavirus pandemic or Covid-19. The class that employs the principles of the collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking (the 4 Cs) demonstrates a keen understanding of the forces that drive the successful learning outcomes of students with 21st century skills, regardless of the challenges that we may face. The strategies adopted within our social studies classes reflect the philosophical foundations of the 4 Cs principles.
